The Town of Saint Andrews is accepting applications for the following positions for the 2018:

 

Public Works Labour

Duties include various tasks around town such as lawn mowing, painting and other tasks as assigned.

 

Junior Wharfinger Market Wharf

Duties include assisting Wharfinger with incoming boats, light maintenance around wharf, assisting tourists and boaters with inquiries.  Experience with boating considered an asset.

 

Tour Guides- St. Andrews Blockhouse

We are currently looking for individuals to act as tour guides. Duties include providing public tours, addressing the public's inquiries and light maintenance around the facility. 

The successful applicants will have an interest in historic artifacts, places and events, and enjoys dealing with the public.  Bilingualism is a necessity.

 

Interpretive Guide- Sheriff Andrews House

We are currently looking for an individual to work in our own living museum.  Candidates must be outgoing plus have interest in history as you will be conducting tours for the public. Excellent communication skills in both official languages is considered an asset.  The successful candidate must be registered with the Provincial SEED program.     

 

Visitor Information Centre Attendants

We are currently looking for individuals to staff our Visitor Information Centre.  Duties include meeting with tourists, providing information on the Town and assisting them with their visit to our area.  Successful applicants should have a thorough knowledge of Saint Andrews, be outgoing, friendly and willing to assist others.  A general knowledge of computer use (Internet and MS Office Suite). Spoken proficiency in both official languages considered an asset.  The successful candidate must be registered with the Provincial SEED program.     

 

Tour Guides- Ross Memorial Museum

We are currently looking for an individual to work in our own living museum.  Candidates must be outgoing plus have interest in history as you will be conducting tours for the public. You'll also be asked to do light cleaning and gardening duties. Excellent communication skills in both official languages is considered an asset.  The successful candidates must be registered with the Provincial SEED program

 

Junior Librarian- Ross Memorial Library

We are looking for candidates with an interest to join the staff at a fully functional library.  In addition to assisting patrons with our collections of books, DVD's and other materials, the candidate will also help plan and execute the children's summer program.  The successful candidates must be registered with the Provincial SEED program; being enrolled in a Library Sciences program and being bilingual would be considered an asset.

Assistant Wharfinger:  Market Wharf 

Competition #2018-07
Under the direct supervision of the Wharfinger, the Assistant is responsible for the safe movement of vessels, vehicles and pedestrians at Market Wharf, the assigning of berths at Town-owned piers, slips and moorings, the collection of fees, report writing, and the performance of light maintenance work.  Experience working on the water and a valid Small Craft Operators Certificate are considered assets.

Supervisor:  Sheriff Andrews House

Competition #2018-08
The Supervisor of this living museum oversees the day-to-day operations of the facility and the delivery of programming with the assistance of two staff.  The ideal candidate has good interpersonal, organizational, managerial and communications skills; is a team leader who enjoys working with the public and has a passion for history.  Bilingualism is considered an asset.

Senior Interpretur:  Sheriff Andrews House

Competition #2018-09
This individual is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in carrying out the visitor experience at this historic site from late May to mid October.  The ideal candidate has the ability to work independently or as a member of the interpretation team, has good customer service skills and enjoys working with the public.  Bilingualism is considered an asset.
